Movie Producer Brian Grazer loves SpinGym

2017-08-12T15:51:48-04:00Sunday, May 1, 2016|

I was lucky enough to run into Brian backstage in NYC at Fox & Friends.  He asked about SpinGym, tried it, loved it and even posted it to Twitter! He co-founded Imagine Entertainment in 1986, with Ron Howard. The films they produced have grossed over $13 billion.[2] The movies include four for which Grazer was personally nominated for an Academy Award: Splash (1984), Apollo 13 (1995), A Beautiful Mind (2001), and Frost/Nixon (2008). His films and TV series have been nominated for 43 Academy Awards, and 131 Emmys. In 2002, Grazer won an Oscar for Best Picture for A Beautiful Mind (shared with Ron Howard). In 2007, he was named one of Time's "100 Most Influential People in the World". Grazer began his career as a producer developing television projects. While executive-producing TV pilots at Paramount Pictures in the early 1980s, he met current long-time friend and business partner Ron Howard. He produced his first feature-film, Night Shift, in 1982, directed by Howard. Grazer and Howard teamed up again for Splash in 1984, which Grazer produced and co-wrote. Splash earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay of 1984. In 1986, Grazer and Howard co-founded Imagine Entertainment, which became one of Hollywood's most prolific and successful production companies. Over the years, Grazer's films and TV shows have been nominated for a total of 43 Academy Awards, and 131 Emmys. At the same time, his movies [...]

Love the Line - I'm not really a doctor, I just play one on TV! It must have been amazing to work on the set of ER or Chicago Hope and play doctor - well this week I got to "play" doctor in the controversial film Blurred Lines focusing on the rights of TransGender - my character is not very sympathetic - so you'll have to watch to see how it turns out!

Nurses love Spingym

2016-04-26T15:50:10-04:00Tuesday, April 26, 2016|

We Love Nurses! For industries with aging employees, such as nursing, the goal of a healthy workforce may be even more important to mitigate health changes associated with aging and to help nurses retain their ability to manage the physical demands of caring for patients. The average age of a nurse in the US is nearing 50 years (American Nursing 2011).  Trusted professionals such as nurses have a distinct opportunity to educate not only patients, but also each other, about healthy lifestyle choices that incorporate a balance of exercise and proper nutrition. At the regional nursing convention I had the chance to teach more than 200 nurses how to SpinGym (especially wonderful as my daughter Makenna helped as well) The response was extraordinary and many plan to incorporate the workout into their daily routine and for patients that can handle it as well -- a win / win all round! www.SpinGym.com

Paleo Pumpkin Bread

2018-10-20T23:37:42-04:00Saturday, April 16, 2016|

This Paleo Pumpkin Bread recipe is a staple for the holidays. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, extremely moist, deliciously spiced and smells amazing coming out of the oven. It’s a one-bowl, no-fail recipe that you’ll make again and again. I rarely have recipes turn out perfect on first attempt, but this paleo pumpkin bread recipe did just that. The base on this paleo pumpkin bread recipe – almond flour, tapioca flour, baking soda, salt, butter (or coconut oil) and vanilla extract. But instead of mashed bananas we’ll used organic canned pumpkin and instead of honey we’ll use maple syrup. Then, we’ll add a good amount of pumpkin spice and call it a day. The best part about this recipe is that it only takes one bowl. Just add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and use a hand mixer to quickly blend everything together. Pour it into your loaf pan (you can get fancy with this loaf pan) and place it in the oven. Super easy. When it comes out of the oven your kitchen will smell divine. And needless to say, it’s the perfect breakfast bread to serve up for Thanksgiving. Or any fall weekend. I top my Paleo Pumpkin [...]

9 Words Women Use…

2016-02-11T06:55:32-05:00Thursday, February 11, 2016|Tags: , , , |

9 WORDS WOMEN USE... (1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.   (3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine. (4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! (5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)  (6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.   (7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. [...]
