It’s Not Selfish To Love Yourself

2018-09-30T00:06:04-04:00Monday, September 7, 2015|

If you want happiness then understand that it starts with you - not with your relationships, not with your job, not with your money but you. Your internal state, your thoughts affect your external state. Life really is like a boomerang, what you put out, is exactly what will return to you, so if you're unhappy, don't like your own company, feel guilty or hate yourself on the inside, then your outside life is always going to reflect that. To change the world around you, you must first change the world inside yourself. Face your fears, your demons, take responsibility for your own feelings, your own actions and especially your own mistakes. Learn the lessons and make the changes to avoid being a donkey. Life is like a school, we learn to walk, we fall, bruise ourselves, but don't just sit there, get up and keep moving forward - keep your thoughts positive and be blessed you have been given another day, for in each waking day, you will find scores of blessings and opportunities. Take advantage of every second. Use your mind to create new ideas, to wipe out debt, heal relationships, and transform obstacles into opportunities. [...]

Metabolic Boosting Foods!

2017-08-12T15:51:51-04:00Monday, September 7, 2015|

Body Builders will tell you that a strong, lean body is MADE in the kitchen, not the gym. Well here’s an exciting bonus - certain food CAN boost your metabolism and help you burn fat just by EATING THEM! What Is Metabolism? Metabolism is the amount of energy or calories needed by your body to maintain itself throughout the day. Everyone's metabolism is different and affected by your body’s composition -people with more muscles will have a higher metabolism, while those that are less muscular have a lower metabolism. Old adage to get you motivated to go to the gym (or SpinGym regularly) muscle burns fat for fuel! A person with a higher metabolism (due to working out and greater muscle mass) will be able to eat more calories daily than another person with the same weight and height that does not workout or have the same amount of muscle mass. Great news for those of us who LOVE to eat. The foods listed below can literally scorch calories as you chew - they are ones with very high thermogenic properties. SO! Feed your metabolism with these… Hot peppers Capsaicin, the compound that gives chili peppers their kick, heats up [...]

This sign represents SO many things - think about the amazing memories you have from travel - I personally have toured Europe on my own with a backpack when I was just 21, taken my twins to experience China, cruised through Alaska, trekked around Africa, scuba dived off the coast of Turks & Caicos and on and on.  In truth, the only trips I regret are the ones I didn't take!  How often does time and money and responsibilities get in the way of you enjoying a vacation?  I cherish my experiences and will share so many of them along with a private collection of photos - so we can BOTH experience the adventures :) On a side note - if money is a barrier to you enjoying travel - I am part of the world LARGEST travel club that gets amazing savings on trips including $69 cruises, a week in an all inclusive resort in Mexico for under $300 and SO much more visit my site http://ForbesRiley.worldventures.biz

Africa

2017-08-12T15:51:52-04:00Saturday, September 5, 2015|

One of the most adventures I ever went on was a 6 week trip to Africa.  I have dear friends who live in Lake Navaisha and thought it would be a great Christmas/New Years (1998-1999) trip.  I was MORE than right.  I will never forget. Some highlights include getting to pet Cheetahs - note to self - these was NOT a scheduled tour nor were they tamed.  I have a friend Junie Zwager who owns a game reserve and I am profoundly lucky that I didn't get hurt that day.  I was just mesmerized by the giant and gently cats and took a chance.  I DO NOT recommend it. :)

Get our of your comfort zone

2015-08-31T17:38:19-04:00Monday, August 31, 2015|

Once you get rid of the idea that you must please other people in order to feel accepted before you please yourself, and begin to follow your own instincts, only then can you be successful. You'll feel more fulfilled and at peace within and other people tend to be satisfied by what you do. Understand that at times you have to leave the city of your own comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition.   Follow your gut, because when you do, what you'll discover will be amazing - what you'll discover is actually yourself. Remember, there are no mistakes, only lessons. Love yourself, trust your choices, and everything is possible.

Some say beauty is only skin deep - I say thank God for Mascara! I am always amazed at how glamorous make-up can make you look and though for some the natural look works - not for me! I have been truly blessed throughout the years to work with some amazingly talented professional makeup artists and I'm grateful they taught me well.  AND shared some of their industry secrets. Always start with a clean face Apply a toner and moisturize (and if you're headed outside, apply sunscreen) Match your base to your squinting - are you yellow or pink base Invest in great brushes Translucent powder sets your base These and many more tips to come have keep me looking great on tv for decades AND a very special heartfelt thanks to my LEAD make-up artist on Forbes Living: Jodi Welch!

Music is many things to many people, but to entrepreneurs it can be an essential success tool. According to a recent study "Brain imaging studies have shown that various parts of the brain may be activated by a piece of music." So the advice is that you can actually "program" your brain to think and feel in specific ways. As one of the world’s most creative thinkers, Steve Jobs revealed that he listened to his favorite music and these are some tunes that inspired him…

Dr Bob Proctor

2017-08-12T15:51:58-04:00Saturday, August 22, 2015|

Have you seen or read The Secret and its Law of Attraction? Well I have been a believer forever and imaged how impacted I was when one of the stars of the movie, Dr. Bob Proctor not only became a fan of mine - but SpinGym as well.  As he tells in his video we met at a dinner, the night before we were both speaking at a Charity event put on by the Cynthia Kersey Foundation.  What I didn't realize until he sent me this video was that he had had a heart attack and how profoundly my fitness product affected him, his recovery and his on going health. When he says that SpinGym works like unadulterated magic and that everyone should be using one - I was on Cloud 9 - perhaps I still am -- so happy to share his energy, his passion and words of wisdom.     www.SpinGym.com

5 Fun Travel Tips

2017-08-12T15:51:59-04:00Wednesday, August 5, 2015|

I got the travel bug from my family and we would LOVE to take trips together.  Back when I was little we didn't have a lot of money so we would travel mostly in the US and for a while owned a motor home.  It was fun, more convenient than having to pack up and stay in hotels and I think it helped make my family very close.  We did not however, ever make it out of this country and glorious as the USA is, I've personally visited 40 States - I craved seeing the rest of the world and experiencing different cultures - here are some tips I want to share that can add spice to your trips abroad. Patience is Important.  Nothing when you travel is quite the way you expect.  Planes get delayed, hotels don't have your reservation, the waiter doesn't speak English and you're starving - The best advice - truly don’t sweat the stuff you can’t control. Life is much too short to be angry & annoyed all the time. Take a breath and count your blessings (it could always be worse!) Then look around - most people are not nearly as lucky as you [...]
