Infomercials started in the early 90's and I was blessed to be a part of the most amazing industry -- however I do remember the first time I saw a commercial - that wasn't 2 minutes but 30 minutes!  To this day, I have hosted 144 infomercials ranging from fitness products to health, cleaning, skincare and so much more -- but my favorite experience has been the launch of SpinGym - and I did this with Legends Billy Mays and Anthony Sullivan

Launching Forbes Factor

2017-08-12T15:51:46-04:00Wednesday, June 1, 2016|Tags: , , , |

When we first purchased the building that was to become the Forbes Riley production studios it was a bit of a gamble and leap of faith into the unknown.   My husband and I had longed talked about creating a space where I could perform, or film, or hold classes but with the launch of our fitness company SpinGym my focus was split and then we also had 2 twin toddlers. We purchased the building and began the buildout with the back half being the "studio" and the front half being office and the coolest conference room I could imagine - its round, white, with a wall painted as a white board.  It turned out better than I could imagined. Then what to do with it -- luckily I had some amazing girlfriends who came to my rescue - in particular were Daphne Street and Leslie Belcher.  Over lunch I outlined this dream I had to teach and coach and transform the lives of people (okay, specifically women) but I was open.  Within months of talking about this vision we created to completely unique and amazing programs.  The first was Forbes Factor - an interactive one day, life changing [...]

9 Words Women Use…

2016-02-11T06:55:32-05:00Thursday, February 11, 2016|Tags: , , , |

9 WORDS WOMEN USE... (1) Fine: This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up. (2) Five Minutes: If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.   (3) Nothing: This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine. (4) Go Ahead: This is a dare, not permission. Don't Do It! (5) Loud Sigh: This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to # 3 for the meaning of nothing.)  (6) That's Okay: This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. That's okay means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.   (7) Thanks: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say you're welcome. [...]

New Years Resolutions 2016

2017-08-12T15:51:49-04:00Sunday, January 3, 2016|Tags: , , , |

Its new year 2016! New Year, healthier you New Year’s resolutions are a bit like babies: They’re fun to make but extremely difficult to maintain. Each January, roughly one in three Americans resolve to better themselves in some way but sadly a much smaller percentage of people actually make good on those resolutions. It's hard to keep up the enthusiasm months after you've swept up the confetti, but it's not impossible. This year, pick one of the following worthy resolutions, and stick with it. Here’s to your health! Lose weight The fact that this is perennially among the most popular resolutions suggests just how difficult it is to commit to. But you can succeed if you don’t expect overnight success.  A highly recommend starting a journal - for you food and your mental health - my favorite www.myeatjournal.com Quit smoking I watched both my parents die from smoking and it is mind bending to me that even though it clearly says on the package that smoking WILL cause cancer... we can't seem to fight the addiction.  My personal recommendation after you've tried will power and patches - is hypnosis -- I will have a new CD out and if you'd like more info [...]

Forbes on Hallmark’s Home and Family

What a treat to appear on Hallmark's Home and Family with my old friends Mark and Christine.  We talked health and fitness, got everyone SpinGyming and a blast!  Thank you Woody Fraser and Debbie Supnick! Mark Steines Steines was the long standing co-anchor of the number one syndicated entertainment news magazine show “Entertainment Tonight.” Steines has been at the forefront of industry news for over a decade, interviewing hundreds of Hollywood’s biggest stars over the course of his career. Although Steines was flattered to be named to People Magazine’s coveted “Sexiest Men of 2004” roster, as well as one of Men’s Fitness Magazine’s “25 Fittest Men in America," he takes more pride in the journalistic honors and accolades that adorn his shelves. A four-time Emmy nominee and three-time winner, his first came for the KCAL special “Beyond Endurance: Madagascar,” for which he also won the Golden Mic Award; his second came for “Beyond Endurance: Borneo.” He was awarded with a National Iris Award for outstanding reporting and garnered national recognition by the Women’s Sports Foundation for his fair and impartial reporting on the Women’s National Football League. Christina Ferrare In the early 80’s, Ferrare co-hosted “AM Los Angeles,” which was [...]

Hosting an Infomercial in my PJ’s

This was such a treat to host this show in my pajamas and then go out in the park and ask people what pillow they use! How important is choosing the correct pillow? Getting good quality sleep is so vital for living a healthy life. To that end a quiet dark bedroom, no distractions and not doing work in bed till all hours will actually greatly improve your productivity, state of mind and ultimately your happiness. One of the key factors toward getting the full benefits of your time in bed is having a pillow that best serves YOU. So many of us don’t realize it, but pillows serve a very specific role in their sleep. Since pillows play an important role in your sleep, they will have a considerable impact on your quality of rest and your overall well-being. Resting your head on a pillow when you sleep serves two basic functions. A pillow provides support to the sleeper’s neck and upper back when they are resting and they provide a better level of comfort than can be had without a pillow. When you are shopping for a pillow, it is important to consider both of these [...]
