Obesity is a major problem in the United States and now many other parts of the world. This is where the body accumulates more fat than is being burned by normal metabolism and this causes fat deposits to begin to build up in the belly area, thighs, buttocks and even waist. The problem of obesity is so acute that some schools especially in Atlanta Georgia have began to offer strictly vegetarian diets to their students and the students have embraced this diet well. So what causes obesity? There is one cause of weight gain that is rather unfortunate-genetics. Sometimes, it is easy to judge people from appearance and form an opinion that their excess weight is as a result of irresponsible eating habits. But doctors report that there are people with genetic maladjustments that cause a problem with the way [...]

Happy Thanksgiving 2018

2018-11-25T04:05:03-05:00Tuesday, November 20, 2018|

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time - but only if you have friends family and budget -- for so many it can be quite the troubling time from family to feeling loss to even struggling to have a meal.  One of my most memorable Thanksgiving was spent dishing out meals for those less fortunate.  think about everyone and always be grateful. Modern Thanksgiving In the 19th century, the modern Thanksgiving holiday started to take shape. In 1846, Sarah Josepha Hale, editor of a magazine called Godley’s Lady’s Book, campaigned for an annual national thanksgiving holiday after a passage about the harvest gathering of 1621 was discovered and incorrectly labeled as the first Thanksgiving. It wasn't until 1863, when President Abraham Lincoln declared two national Thanksgivings; one in August to commemorate the Battle of Gettysburg and the other in November to give thanks for "general blessings." Native Americans Long before settlers came to the East Coast of the USA the area was inhabited by many Native American tribes. TThe native people knew the land well and had fished, hunted, and harvested for thousands of generations. The Settlers The people who comprised the Plymouth Colony were a group of English Protestants who wanted [...]

WHAT is FEAR Really??

2018-09-19T23:13:37-04:00Wednesday, September 19, 2018|

What is fear? Fear is the feeling you get when you are afraid or worried that something bad is going to happen. As human, you will always feel fear. But you must be very careful not to empower it so that it adversely influences your actions and decisions. It causes you to feel anxiety, insecurity, and a complete lack of positive feeling. When fear overruns you...  there is a tendency for you to become hesitant or procrastinate, not able to think sensibly or logically. Fear imposes limitations upon your potential and ability, and in the process ruins your relationships with others. When you fill your mind with only courageous thoughts, you leave no room for fears and you tend to make courageous decisions. Courage is not absence of fear but the overcoming of fear. Fear is all that lies between you and your dreams. Instead of seeing or feeling the fear, look at the further side of it towards your dreams. Move forward despite feeling the fear. Just have faith and do it. Your faith will never let you down. It will see you through. You permit your mind to habitually dwell on countless negative thoughts and the resultant fears. The [...]

Overcome to $uccess

2018-09-25T21:54:14-04:00Sunday, March 11, 2018|

Overcome to $uccess By Forbes Riley You are the sum of the obstacles you overcome: If you are lucky to live long enough, you're likely to go through some pretty bad stuff, whether it's the death of loved ones, losing all of your money or possessions, sickness and injuries, and other traumatic events. At best, you find that you come out of it—you've lived through some horrible circumstances or even seemingly improbable near-death experiences, and you discover yourself on the other side of it. You also realize that some people don't make it through similar circumstances, literally, by not escaping death or succumbing to suicide, but here you are, you made it through. The powerful thing about living through the horrible times isn't just in the survival. I have learned that when you come through a personal tragedy, you come through different. Life is never about what happens to you; instead it is about how you choose to handle the hand you've been dealt. Under the same circumstances handed to two different people, one shuts down, wallows in self-pity, succumbs to fear, and uses their hardships as an excuse, while the other takes the challenge head-on, gets up, pushes [...]

Forbes Riley’s Story Shines in the Huffington Post

Forbes Riley, Former Actress Finds A New Role And Spins It Into Millions   May 30, 2015 FORBES RILEY One of the reasons I started my website is that I wanted a place for women to come together and dream. We women need to know that we don’t have to hang on to an old dream that has stopped nurturing us — that there is always time to start a new dream. This week’s story is about a woman who hoped to become a famous actress — and sold health and fitness products for others as a side job. But when her acting career wasn’t getting her the gigs she wanted, she knew it was time to embrace the job she’d been doing all along. Now, the infomercial maven has launched her own product line, and she’s become the star of her fitness empire. -– MarloThomas.com By Lori Weiss Forbes Riley is the billion-dollar woman. Actually, she’s brought in $2.5 billion, if you add up all the products she’s sold on TV. With 180 infomercials on her resume, she’s sold enough health and fitness products to win a place in the Fitness Hall of Fame. “I was an actress,” Forbes explained, “and in [...]

SUCCESS in BUSINESS

2017-08-12T15:49:03-04:00Tuesday, November 1, 2016|

Success in Business 5 amazing clues - because success leave clues yes?! 1. Take a simplistic approach Listing down your tasks doesn’t have to be overwhelming. You don’t need a lot of planning software and apps just to get your work done. In fact, it can be as simple as using a pen and paper. When creating your list, it will be helpful if you can break it down into specific activities. If you’re scheduled to clean your room on a Sunday, you can create sub-tasks, such as making your bed, taking out the curtains and vacuuming the carpet. 2. Get organized If you are the type of person who likes keeping hard copies of your bills, there’s a good chance you can be keeping piles of paper on your work desk or home, too. To make sure these things don’t block your productivity, it’s a good idea to store them in dedicated folder racks and holders. You can create labels for them so you’ll know right away which ones should be prioritized and which needs to be thrown away. Instead of taking a 5-minute break each time you’re starting to feel bored with your tasks, promise yourself уou’ll get a reward after the day’s goal is done. It can [...]
