2016-04-30T09:10:36-04:00Saturday, April 30, 2016|

Love the Line - I'm not really a doctor, I just play one on TV! It must have been amazing to work on the set of ER or Chicago Hope and play doctor - well this week I got to "play" doctor in the controversial film Blurred Lines focusing on the rights of TransGender - my character is not very sympathetic - so you'll have to watch to see how it turns out!

Nurses love Spingym

2016-04-26T15:50:10-04:00Tuesday, April 26, 2016|

We Love Nurses! For industries with aging employees, such as nursing, the goal of a healthy workforce may be even more important to mitigate health changes associated with aging and to help nurses retain their ability to manage the physical demands of caring for patients. The average age of a nurse in the US is nearing 50 years (American Nursing 2011).  Trusted professionals such as nurses have a distinct opportunity to educate not only patients, but also each other, about healthy lifestyle choices that incorporate a balance of exercise and proper nutrition. At the regional nursing convention I had the chance to teach more than 200 nurses how to SpinGym (especially wonderful as my daughter Makenna helped as well) The response was extraordinary and many plan to incorporate the workout into their daily routine and for patients that can handle it as well -- a win / win all round! www.SpinGym.com

Paleo Pumpkin Bread

2018-10-20T23:37:42-04:00Saturday, April 16, 2016|

This Paleo Pumpkin Bread recipe is a staple for the holidays. It’s gluten-free, dairy-free, extremely moist, deliciously spiced and smells amazing coming out of the oven. It’s a one-bowl, no-fail recipe that you’ll make again and again. I rarely have recipes turn out perfect on first attempt, but this paleo pumpkin bread recipe did just that. The base on this paleo pumpkin bread recipe – almond flour, tapioca flour, baking soda, salt, butter (or coconut oil) and vanilla extract. But instead of mashed bananas we’ll used organic canned pumpkin and instead of honey we’ll use maple syrup. Then, we’ll add a good amount of pumpkin spice and call it a day. The best part about this recipe is that it only takes one bowl. Just add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and use a hand mixer to quickly blend everything together. Pour it into your loaf pan (you can get fancy with this loaf pan) and place it in the oven. Super easy. When it comes out of the oven your kitchen will smell divine. And needless to say, it’s the perfect breakfast bread to serve up for Thanksgiving. Or any fall weekend. I top my Paleo Pumpkin [...]
